Vote for DKP Change (regarding members vs. non-members)

Postby bill » Fri Aug 06, 2004 4:39 pm

As a preface, the options are should we give everyone who has earned their DKP the right to spend them on any loot they see fit regardless of guild OR should we reserve the right to give guild members priority on bidding?

By priority I mean that you cannot be outbid by a non-member?

This isn't at you Bill, but the issue people are having.

The question shouldn't be whether we can be outbid by non members.

It should be.

Should Non-TF be allowed on our raids?

Heres why - If non TFers can't outbid us, than anybody could just bid one point for something hoping to get it (a member that is), and outbid the nontfer that bidded 10, 20, or even 50.

Thats stupid.

If they cant spend the points they EARNED... let me repeat that.

If they cant spend the points they EARNED DAMMIT

What the fuck is the point in coming to our raids in the first place?

Real slick way to get more apps!

Let's see, we have 111 actively logging players... so 56 votes would be a majority....

Ultimatly this leads to - no points for guests. no points for guests essentially says you can come for fun - but that is it. Oh, you can have some table scraps... maybe. and only if it is no drop.

This is just a vote. Even if it was 100 yes and 0 no...That doesn't mean anything is going to change.

good point.

Hey, if anyone's enthusiastic about the issue, this would be a great time to prod your friends who've never visited the forums to come register!

Hint!

can someone please give a CONCISE overview of the issue at hand?

As I see it, non-mambers should aquire DKP, but may not be able to bid on anything untill they join the guild.

Is this poll begging that non-members can bid on raid loot with their " guest" dkp?

Please help the sanity.....

I know if I get outbid my a non-member I may go "aww shit" or something, but if they earned the points attending OUR raids, they should be able to bid their points as they wish on an equal platform. Sometimes these small details end up huge issues, and we can't please 100% of folks 100% of the time, I voted YES to letting guests bid, even outbid a member if that happens, but I will live with whatever the majority wants. (after I ram that big Klingon battle blade down the guys throat that beats me out of loot !!!! ) lol jk

The current policy is written so that all persons attending TF raids get TF Raid Points. If further is written that anyone with RP's can spend them anyway they want, according to the published bidding order (which basicly says that people at the raid get first chance to bid).

The major gist of the debate is that a) if you can earn TF RP's without being a member, why join? and b) as written, non TF who have RP's could essentially screw Members out of needed upgrades or salables.

There's 5 pages up in Open to peruse. http://www.tribalfury.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2608

My 2cp is in there somewhere, but essentially: it hasn't been an issue, most guests don't even know they have RP's. The other half seem to be Former TF in hardcore raiding guilds and don't want our loot. EditThe other other half seem to join TF anyway.

Non Tf cant "Screw" us out of loot by outbidding.

We dont get "screwed" because somebody earned something.

Maybe we have some people getting a bit too greedy, and a little too high and mighty?

I can see both sides of the fence here.

Most guilds that I know of only allow non-members to get loot if someone in the guild does not need that item. So, once again, you run into need before greed. If a member bids 40pts, and a non-member bids 45, then a TF'er just lost on an upgrade on a TF raid to a non-TF'er. I don't see how that helps the guild. Now, if a TFer bids on an item that is not an upgrade just to keep it in the family, that would be WRONG. We don't let loot rot, but we shouldn't be greedy bastards either.

Now don't get me wrong. The non-member earned points going to our raids, and has a right to spend them. But if a non-member has the ability to outbid a member, then they should be wearing our banner anyway. So, not letting non-members outbid members would give someone more incentive to come to our side. I mean, obviously they raid more with us (than anyone else) if they have that many friggen points!

do any other guilds offer quasi raid points being a non- member?

Is this common practice?
