RETIRED PLAYERS and GUESTS DKP DO NOT APPEAR

Postby Serano » Sat Apr 29, 2006 10:47 pm

I haven't deleted all of our retired players or the guests that were in TF or never were.

If you are a regular Guest in TF raids or a retired TFer that still wears the TF tag - your toon(s) are still in the DKP and all of your DKP is intact. HOWEVER - you can not see it unless you do a archetype or by class query in standings.

This drops our DKP standings to under 300 and loads the page up a lot faster - hope this helps peeps that look at their DKP.

IF you return from retirement please let an officer know that you want your status returned to active raider or inactive raider in order to restore the easy veiwing of your DKP.

OH - and guests can not spend DKP - only TF members, the DKP they earn can only be earned if someday they join or return to TF.

Currently we are testing out having Inactive raiders also not viewable. I think the working definition of an inactive raider is no raid stamp in 2-3 months - and a retired player is someone that both hasn't raided in 6 months and hasn't seemed to log in for 3-6 months either.

ALL players are veiwable if you sort by class.

Was the page really loading so slowly this had to be done?

yes it was goofy.

Also, considering there were people on the DKP that go back to when it was first implimented and never showed up again, plus had hundreds of people that have attended only one raid over the years, i think this was a great decision.

Especialy since he said he would re-add anyone who got removed by accident. What harm is there in doing some spring cleaning.

The speed of the download is fast. The delay from hitting the button to getting the data to send is what seems to be the delay on high speed connections. I guess there are still people out there using dial-up.

Yeah every time you click a button in eqDKP it parses and pulls data from our database.. which is quite extensive. The less info you have to pull, the faster the page will display but there will always be some latency while the server processes the database request. What I noticed made it worse was server-side.. Overhead in the tables of the database .. so I try to keep that optimized weekly.

If you retired, you'd still have points, they just won't show in the regular listing. This still makes me cry at night.

You have to go WAY WAY back in time to find an EX TFer that left the game before we started DKP in June of 03. but Targ is one of those guys. He left the game for the last time IIRC, when we were JUST about to start DKP, and were raiding Umbral Plains and Akheva ruins.

I was here in June of 03. But now I don't see my points listed even when I filter for Leather. Were my Guest points removed for some reason?
