Monk AA advice?

Postby sswuish » Sat Oct 28, 2006 10:29 pm

Now that I've hit 70 I went and looked through all the AA's I hadn't done before and all the new ones I have yet to do. The notes I've added in for each one are more for my reference since most of the monks here will know what the abilities are already.

The purpose of this is to try and get a hand on where I'm at and what I need to start working through with priorities and so forth. If you've never played a monk, especially a raiding / pulling monk please, don't bother posting here. I'm looking for a pulling / dps monk build and not sure what's more important than others.

Also, in the process of reorganizing this I accidentally deleted one and can't figure out which one it is, so if you notice one missing lemme know.

So without further ado, The List, in order from most important (or most accessible) to least, leaving out all the useless bullshit I wouldn't buy if I had a pool of free AA available.

I would put heightened awareness down some, as well as strikethrough/punishing blade below all the crit mend aas. st/pb especially just never impressed me at all.

stonewall is better than imaginable.
A CAT IS FINE TOO!!!

Stonewall 5, Rapid Feign 3, Run Speed 8, All the Mend aa's

Once you have these your life as a monk is never the same. I would also do those aa's in that order.

Imitate Death is a VERY good idea to get also for a back up in case of emercency and a lot can be said about Purify Body too, but definitly get the faster FD and stone wall first.

Yeah, what Yoshi said-Imitate Death-will save your butt and the raid from trains.

Demi-plane Zi-Thull Gflux will pop you off the ramp while you are FD.....well, when you pop back in at the zone in (where the raid prolly is) whatever you were FD'ing off will come running with lotsa friends.

Imitate Death FTW.....like Yoshi said.

I see you have everlasting breath in ur list of top priorities. Lose it. The amount of items out nowadays with faerune on it (eb and c invis in one) will mean that worring about not having eb is almost never an issue. In the off chance you happen to be in one of the rare zones that needs eb and you don't have an item with faerune on it, pick up a cheap eb baz item and swap it over. There are really not enough airless zones to warrent buying eb AAs, especially since at least one item you own will probably have eb anyway.

Get tribute faerune...aka Gift of the Enchanter. Even works when you have no gear on.
