Heh, one thing is for sure.. the more things have changed in the last 2000 years.. the more they remained the same. Yeah we have all kinds of cool inventions and technology since then, however I fear that has only added to the number of man-made items list that we can covet, collect, and fight wars over.

OMG I agree with Worff!!

Another thing that hasnt changed in 2000 years is that a life filled with the love of friends and family is what a true happy life seems to be. People were happy 2000 years ago with less shiney gadgets than there are now. However the more technology and inventions we come out with, its not only something to want and covet, its also something to make us more independant. Thus the reason a larger % of the people now a days are unhappy as in the past (kind of a guess statistic but seems right).

Rich people prolly would disagree... taking proprety from the wealthy and giving to others is called socialism. Sociallism works about like a one legged man at an ass kickin' contest...... I think The failure of the Bolchivik revolution proved that.

wow can't belive I just sat and read the whole thread in one sitting. I missed a lot of politics being away from the boards. There were times where I just wanted to smack some of you for being so ignorant and times where I was like good point made. I just have a question for you guys who want to sit down talk and try to reason with the people who want to kill us or cause us harm. Would you also want to sit down and reason with Charles Manson or Jeffrey Dommers. While they are not crazy but just have diffrent belives so do those people that I mention. You have to make sure they know your not going to get kicked in the nuts and take it. Its not going to stop people from attacking us or causing harm but it might make them think twice. Personally I say there is no right or wrong thing way. Angyish your not bright the war in the old world has been going on for thousands of years it will never end. If its not the muslims and the Jews its the Christians and the muslims and so on. It reminds me of two kids on a playground both fighting over the right answer when they both are right.

Charles Manson was the leader of a horrific cult who fed his followers massive amounts of LSD and encouraged sexual and gruesome acts. Jeffrey Dahmer thought by drilling a hole in the head and pouring in acid he could make a mindless sex slave, and was involved in dismemberment and cannibalism. As a child he used to play with roadkill, skinning it and dismembering carcasses.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and maybe throw these people into a different category to the ones above we discussed.

*Nod* Was a good theory, but his chemistry was a bit off. His proportions were all off. *sigh*. Too much sulphur and iron, not enough essence of oyster. A bit light on the poppy oil.

I pwn him

PS - yes that was pretty tasteless

How are they in a different category than, say, the people who would hijack a plain and commit suicide taking down thousands of people with them as a means of salvation in their eyes? Or the people on top paying people to do this.

Not that a TV series is a great educator but Law and Order did an episode similar to that. The guy was tired of women leaving him so he took matters into his own hands. :cry

One is driven by political means and is veiwed as an act of war and celebrated by millions. The other is the depraved act of a select few fowarding their own sadistic pleasures which no one outside the cirlce of perpetrators approved of........ other nations didnt revel in the death of Sharron tate and others.... they did how ever revel in the destruction of the WTC towers.

Didnt mean the difference in the reaction of those around them, I meant the difference in the minds of those people commiting the actions.

Almost any business will have low paid workers. In the United States and most western countries, people have opportunities to better educate themselves if they choose to.

I have no problems with super rich people like Bill Gates, the Walton family, the Ford family, top executives at almost any large corporation making millions, or even billions. They earned it.
