I think its hilarious and pathetic the outcry over this comic. This comic could have easily been applied to Bush or any other president we've ever had, and doubt anyone would care. But I guess Obama is special.

Reminds me of how some student in a school here in Boulder Co is trying to get his school to rename itself Barack Obama High School. Let the man do something worthwhile before ya fall in love with him.

I 1) don't see this talking about Obama 2) if it SAID Obama on it- it would be just as funny as if it said Bush on it while he was president.

Pretty good country that we can have political cartoonists lampoon the government with contemporary news events.

What is scary is not one of the congressmen/senators voting on it even read it.

New Ice cream flavor out!!: Baracky Road... half vanilla, half chocolate, and surrounded by fruits and nuts

I agree with Serano. I saw the comic and knew it was referring to the monkey a couple of cops shot, not some racial reference.

This topic probably belongs in the real life an opinion section.

Barry O has had a rough first month. I think people are tired of him blaming past administrations. He has more power than any President since Jimmy Carter, so step up and fix the problem instead of telling us it is Bush's fault. Even Bill Clinton urged him to focus on positives.

For a guy who ran on openness and accoutability to not do his homework and nominate people who have histories of tax problems is a mistake. Regular people know if they "forgot" to pay $20k in income taxes they would be behind bars not appointed treasury secretary. If Bush had nominated someone like this he would have been hammered in Congress, and rightfully so, but for some reason Obama got a free pass.

The markets havent exactly recovered after the stimulus package and mortgage releif plans have passed either. Nearly 800 billion dollars are going to be spent....can anyone tell me how a family with 2 people working are going to benefit? Is this mortgage releif going to help the guy who bought a house within his means on a 30 year fixed loan and is falling behind on payments because he lost his job? Or is it going to help the banks and fools who bought a house they can't afford and signed on mortgages to people who can't pay credit card debt, let alone a $2k a month payment.

It's.. er.. a bit early to be expecting impressive results from it. He only signed it, what, tuesday of last week?

can anyone tell me how a family with 2 people working are going to benefit?

Do you think it was a coincidence the stock market plummeted right after Barry signed the "stimulus" bill?

That link provided is all fine and dandy, but I would be much farther ahead with another $2100 "stimulus" check like we got last year. Food stamps, unemployment, college grants, etc are not for working families.

The mortgage bailout rewards banks and individuals that made poor decisions, plain and simple. When my wife and I bought our house we bought a house that we could make payments on if one of us lost our job. Neither of us did so we were able to pay it off 18 years early. Instead the government will reward the guy (and banks) who maxed out his credit cards, overspent on a 3000 sq ft house that he could only afford if he was working 20+ hours a week of overtime.

I think Mr. President stopped going by Barry when he left High School. I believe he goes by his given name of Barack now. I have heard of some peeps giving up kid versions of their names when they leave high school. Apparently my older Cousin Rick doesn't like to go by Ricky any more either.

I will ask him next time I see him. I would hope a grown man wouldn't be so sensitive though. Most people call me Tim, but there are some co workers and relatives that call me Timmy. Some friends called me Timmy for a while, especially after a certain South Park episode. Some friends also called me Tool Man for a while when the show Home Improvement was popular.

I suppose I could use initials like the previous President. B.O. does seem appropriate based on his actions so far.

I never really understood what the point of peeps refering to the last prez as W or dubbua or whatever. Always seemed pretty strange. It seemed easy for me to call him The president or President bush - or when being honorific - The Honorable George Walker Bush.

But it did seem like those that enjoyed having an agenda against him really liked calling him W, something if I understand correctly - he NEVER went by. funny peeps.

Maybe he did not go by W personally, but I remember seeing many "W" bumper stickers and campaign signs when he ran for re-election vs John Kerry.

Bush might move up a notch based on Obama's first couple of months!
