for those that dont know 127.0.0.1 is your loopback IP - if you cant ping 127.0.0.1, whether you have internet or not.. then something is not right with your NIC. Its pretty standard to ping this when you lose connectivity somewhere in a network, scan your loopback, then the next closest down whatever route your packets are going, until you hit where the problem is.

it is also used by some tcp/ip protocol running progs that sometimes feel the need to talk to themselves

so by attacking 127.0.0.1 .. yeah. lol.
