Yeah, I agree. That's the best way to do it, but guilds that are doing what TF has done are everywhere? I've never seen another one that's even close to doing things that way.

Tenet is trying, but every time they win something, they lose 3 more members to poachers.

I'm just saying without spending 6mo finding a new guild that is going to grow and experience a ton of content from VP on up a lot of people see it as easier to just do DoDs PoR stuff and join a surreal/sequel/FA/etc

Its funny how Sequel words their raid attendance policy.

Maybe I am wrong, but do they haze you if you dont raid alot?

Haze you? They kick you out.

THAT, my friends, is the definition of non-mandatory. lol.

We don't force you to raid. We just toss your ass out. =)

funny you mention that. A friend was saying I should keep them in mind down the road. I asked about raids and he said, "I love this guild, raids aren't mandatory." I was like, "O Rly? Which sequel is this?"

No, they claim 99% of members raid when they're online, which is pretty close to true. If they catch you online during a raid and you're not raiding expect shit, but once or twice is ok.

Sequel really expects 70-90% attendance. They're right that it's not totaly mandatory in that there is no set percent, but you will be told to fix it or leave if it seems clear you don't want to be there (aka don't raid in that 50%+ bracket).

The way they measure attendance makes it really hard to keep up.

Tell me about it, that's why I'm back here. I got exactly what I wanted and then realized I hated it. You never realize how much of a life you had until a game ruins it.

I agree - the point is more that they don't say it's mandatory, but it's implied and you get the boot if you don't meet it.

Look at this one

http://www.appotusdominus.org/apply.cfm

Mainly this part:

3 basic rules for applicants:

You must be mature and be drama-free. I don’t mess around with this. Players that bring me or others pain are gone. It’s a lot of work doing this and I simply won’t tolerate anyone ruining my free time or that of the guild membership.

You must listen and learn quickly and constantly.

You must play a lot.

Other than that, we WILL have class needs and basic guidelines for accepting people as applicants.

And in the general part it says:

http://www.appotusdominus.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=165

3. You must play a LOT. Continuity is critical and if you cannot play enough to get the flags, etc - it just won't work. 5 days a week is the minimum here.

Hehe " a lot" defined.

I liked this just a few lines down:

This isn’t a democracy when I need it not to be.
