now I am getting a body cast

Postby Serano » Thu Jan 27, 2005 11:21 am

laugh all you want.

So now I will go from being cranky to being stinky and cranky.

They say that my brace may not be providing enough immobility. There was a 2 % degradation in my spines curvature from 2 weeks ago. still no problems with spinal cord - but they want to protect my spines curvature while I heal.

So I go back in an hour to get the body caste put on.

Then around the 10th of Feb I see a surgeon from Walter Reid who is comming down for multiple consults - to see if I might need future surgery.

yay.

laugh all you want at my body cast.

tell them to cast you in a sitting position with your right hand further up than left so you can still play EQ

1st...That really sucks Serano, but better safe than sorry i guess, I hope you dont have to wear it long.

2nd...LMFA Bill, I hear the stats are 10AC, -50CHA, +5 Regen, and clicky effect Noxious Cloud (resist debuff and movement/attack slow)

Cast

Postby Goofydoofy » Thu Jan 27, 2005 12:23 pm

You should have everybody from TF come sign the cast. Then, when they remove it, you can have a large item of sticky ass plaster with everybodys name on it!

I"m so sorry to hear that. I hope the cast helps you heal peoperly....

Maybe this will make you feel better...

How Rangers Lost Their Sense of Direction

A long time ago, there was this valiant ranger who knew all the lands as if they were the back of his hand. It was requested of him to show the paths others wished to take by many a valiant adventurer, who sought to bring the evil of Norrath to their very knees! He would lead them unerringly to their destinations and aid in stopping the injustice all about. The evil gods, angered by this rangers deeds, took it upon themselves to end his meddling and thus continue their survival.

So, one day, they cast a powerful curse upon this most noble ranger that he may be distracted by the tracks of other creatures - forget where he was headed and falter in his duties to aid those who needed guidance along the paths. Ever since, all rangers have wandered and strayed from their paths and gotten lost and distracted from their duties.

I hopw everything goes well. We wish you a speedy recovery.

You have my complete sympathy.

About 17 years ago I got into a car accident and had 2 full leg casts on. I couldn't take a freaking shower for 3 months. I was lucky because it was summer time and my mom just dropped a bucket of hot water over my head while a shampooed myself.

Hopefully you won't have to deal with it that long....plus, 17 years ago I had no EQ to pass the time. I sat around and smoked pot and watched tv for 15 hours each day. Theres only so much Colecovision you can play.

ok - got my cast done. it isn't really any more restrictive than my brace was - other than the no shower thing - it is more comfortable at least today. my RIGHT arm is less comfortable and I fear an onset of pinched nerves as it rides hight on the right side. left side is cut WAY low - to try to encourage my spine to lean that way vs the right it is already going.

I have a big belly space cut in that allows me to breath so $$
