Hey Tau - good to hear yours is being fixed.

I called up the shop today... 7 days after dropping my PC off. They said they just put it on the bench to work on it. So much for the estimated 3-5 days.

Then I got a call back a few hours later, indicating that the graphics card had an extender attached to it, so that it would fit in the DELL case... but that it's too long to fit in the new case. He said that I had two options
1) Buy a new graphics card that fits
2) He'll take a hack-saw to the graphics card to remove the extender piece

I opted for (2)... but have a bad feeling!

So... looks like it may be a few more days before I get my machine back.

I got my PC back... spent the past few hours getting it set up. Took awhile, but things seem to be working. One problem... I forgot to back up all my EQ files from that machine... so I get to reconfigure everything!

take a hack-saw to the graphics card

Sooo risky. Anytime you stress a circuit board you risk hairline cracks in the traces.
You may never see a problem, but time and heat may eventually cause a break in a circuit.
