We used to think we were very cool to be able to network 4 PCs and have late nights at work playing until the cows came home!

Hell yeah buddy! Doom, Doom2, Duke Nukem, and Shadow Warrior were great network games .. peeps would bring whole PC's over to get on the 8-port router using old IPX/SPX protocol and deathmatch all night long. Was some great times :)

He networked the display computers and he and his salesmen played doom all day.

<3 Hexen, that was where you could 'chicken' people right?

I remember when I worked part time at this one place, in the evenings the computer techies would 'borrow' a corporate classroom and setup a dedicated doom host, then wire in all the client computers and just go at it after work. Just the thought of the computers talking to each other and everyone playing against each other was a completely new experience. Totally got me hooked into computer networking :P
